FYI what you say is entirely untrue. Delta Airlines has a flight to St.Petersburg thru a connection via Moscow. And not only is it there most profitable route but it runs at a better than a 90% load capacity. The reason no other airline has a direct flight or has attempted to apply for one to St.Petersburg is because they're prohibited for at least a year or two since Baltia received their DOT approval and their final order from the US and the Russian federation as being the only designated americam air line with the sole right to fly any and all mail, passenger and cargo direct from JFK to Polkovo II, St. Petersburg. Even if they did have the abillity to apply for this route they would still be 1 to 2 years behind Baltia. This I feel is also a good reason why Baltia could become a very attractive takeover at some point.
