Not SS or its idea. The real schemes have been pulled on the American people who wanted to build on a country of honor following WW2. We sure began missing that mark starting with the election of JFK, and ever since.
We need change alright. Its not the 60's anymore. If the right changes aren't made who knows where this road will eventually lead?
The American debt is made up of what the government owes the American people. Remember the War bonds, US savings bonds?.........if the American people were to cash in all their bonds tommorrow the government couldn't pay up.
Whatever the problem in government its, is never them nor their policies, nor their perks, raises, salaries, or pensions, unlike any other than those with publicly traded companies its the American people at large, except for that small percentage of billionaires, and small trillionaires, and the multi-millionaires, many who make up the Wall Street crowd who they cater to who they serve with diligence.
