The thing is that their "cushion" was actually the lead weight that secured our bottoming. They tried to solve a debt crisis by entering into not just more debt but more debt in one time than any other time.. ever. That's why I kept repeating that it was malice, not ineptitude. Sincerely no one is that stupid..
All they did was delay the true drop while worsening our chances of climbing out of it. Somehow it has to fit onto some master plan.

Why do I believe it to be a part of a plan or that there is a plan?
Simple, no one is so stupid that they can't see this coming, if they have all the information. We know the people responsible had the info.. So they knew this was coming. So they wanted this to happen.

If you or anyone is truly worried about computer security then one should start by using a Linux distribution as their main operating system. From there it is always wise to connect to the net via a router. Most routers do something that is very useful in aiding you to avoid most attacks.. It's called port stealthing. This means that traditionally your ports may be closed but if pinged from another computer they will respond to say they are closed.. This allows a prospective hacker to know that at least there is a computer at that port. By stealthing your ports any hacker's ping will simply reveal that there was no response on that or any other port.. It makes it appear as though no computer exists.

Back to Linux.
Linux is an open source operating system that once had the reputation of being years behind windows in nearly every department. These roles have most certainly reversed. Linux is now the industry leading standard in virtually every category. There will be those that worry that they will not be able to use their software on Linux.. Many times this is true. Your windows software will not work natively. This is not always a big deal. Many many many alternatives exist in the open source universe when it comes to software. Can't use MS Office natively?.. Try Open Office.. I'm a spreadsheet ninja and I can do everything on Open Office's spreadsheet program that I can do on Excel. Do you have a program that you simply can not live without that only comes in windows?.. Try installing it with Wine. Wine is a shell that allows you to install many (Not all) Microsoft programs on Linux..

One major advantage to Linux is that it is remarkably difficult to hack into. It is even harder to install a virus because of the permissions required to get to the root system. This prevents unwanted eyes from seeing in to your system. This allows one to relax just a little bit more.
As for aesthetics.. Tell me this is not an attractive desktop that draws the eye more than windows ever could:
