DEC Region 9 Offices

Niagara Falls

Region 9 is located in western New York and serves Erie, Niagara, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties. It is home to Niagara Falls and other natural assets that make it an attractive place to live.

The main office in Region 9 is located in the City of Buffalo, and three sub-offices are located in Allegany, West Almond and Falconer.

DEC staff in Region 9 have two major areas of responsibility: natural resources management and environmental quality protection. As part of natural resource management, staff oversee state fish and wildlife resources, as well as state lands and forests that are located in the region. Equally important are efforts to protect and improve the quality of the environment.

Contact information for regional officials is listed below, followed by a list of programs carried out in Region 9. Links are provided to web pages that give more information about DEC's work here in western New York.

Unresponsive. New York is not in "region 9" which according to your post is "Serving Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Pacific Islands, and Tribal Nations." Thus, references to California state law, or any other state law within that region, are irrelevant.
