There is nothing that strikes fear into the heart like a charging groundhog, K2. It is especially fearsome when the critter is wounded. LOL.
Actually, they can do considerable damage to a dog that attacks them, to which fact my dogs can attest. Those buck teeth are sharp.
I repeat my suggestion of the air rifle. A good quality air rifle will do the job. Aim for head shots, and take a snow shovel to remove the rodent. I usually dispose of them by putting them head first down their little burrows.
