Are teachers getting a bad rap?

Public middle schools, and high schools.
We have all seen it, or experienced it. Disrupters, trouble makers, and its no secret that gangs exist in and outside schools.
We have seen a teacher getting beat in the classroom for attempting to maintain control on video.

Teachers have been killed in the school, and even at their homes.

We watched a black student beat and killed leaving a Chicago public school on every news channel prior to summer. Some schools are so bad that going to and from school is a risk, and many run the the gambit everyday.

Granted its not every school, and its hard to imagine what some teachers must go thru every school day while attempting to teach have a slew of other issues they have to deal with.

It begs to question what our City and State officials who work with the school systems intend to do to resolve these many issues?

No question about it that there are those who are poorly qualified to teach, and can compound the learning process, but there are just as many that should have never been parents, and far out weigh the number of teachers, but to dump it all on the school teachers is not justified either.
