Do any of you know who owns the patent for the trapezoidal wire used to wrap around the CPTC composite core? In a search using "trapezoidal conductor" in the consignee & inventor fields on the USPTO web site three patents came up with that term in the abstract & title. AlCan was listed as the consignee and the inventor was the same on all three patents but I can't recall his name right now. IF CPTC isn't a licensed user for the "trapezoidal" wrapping the Chinese JV will have to have a license to use that particular technology. THAT may be one reason for the delay in news of a Chinese deal. I'm just speculating because I don't know. Maybe that is a question someone could pose for Mr. Carswell: Who owns the rights on that patent and is CPTC a licensee?
