Setting a sell order high is not going to prevent MM from shorting. I heard some people on hear say set it over a dollar. Setting it over a dollar is still letting them short bc the price difference is so large that basically your shares are free to borrow, atleast for the short run. If you want to prevent some of the shorting you need to lower your sell order, and if PPS starts going up you can just modify your limit price along with it.
