There was no melting it was because of the adhesive used on the sticker that started to lose it's "stickiness". Being left in a car for more than a sunny Texas summer day will cause damage in a lot of things. I did this DELIBERATELY to give it a stress test. 2 months later, it is charging and working as good, if not better than when I first bought it.
