Sunday, received a call from my niece that her brother was in the hospital from an accident and they had him on a respiator. (now is not the time to pick on me for spellin k?) I drove over and got my niece and off to the hospital we went. We found out that he had a freak accident and had fallen backwards on some stairs and had a head injury. The whole family was there, and after about 2 1/2 hours the nun took the parents to talk to the doctor. Michael was brain dead. No gag reflex and his head had splintered at the base from the fall and his brain was ... a mess.
They told the family they wanted to keep him on the respirator for 24 hours to run more tests and Michael was pronouned dead at 3:25pm on Monday........
Wednesday we got a call from the University of Madison that 3 of the organs Michael had donated had been successfully transplanted. And they would be able to use all the organs they had harvested, (they did not harvest the eyes do to trauma from the accident).
Michael was 19 years old and a tragic accident took him home to be with G-d. That was his belief. But Michael will help others to live, and we are thankful for that.
Again, thank you for you prayers and love sent my way.....
