DD: Agricultural Bioremediation

So there is much more to US Microbics than simply cleaning up oil and other environmentally unfriendly substances. Most that have done their "Due Diliginence" know that US Microbics also develops microbe technology for agriculture applications. I knew very little about the true details so I decided to research a bit and share what I found.

What is Bioremediation?
Bioremediation can be defined as any process that uses microorganisms or their enzymes to return the environment altered by contaminants to its original condition. Bioremediation may be employed in order to attack specific contaminants, such as chlorinated pesticides that are degraded by bacteria, or a more general approach may be taken, such as oil spills that are broken down using multiple techniques including the addition of fertilizer to facilitate the decomposition of crude oil by bacteria.

Agricultural Bioremediation is used to treat one of the following issues.

Soil Issues:
* nutrient imbalance
* toxicity
* compaction
* runoff

As well as increaseing profitability by:
* reducing input cost
* maintaining or increasing yield
* improving nutrients of crop

Here is a quote from Mr. Brehm, CEO of US Microbics Inc in a July press release; "I am excited about the prospect of engaging outside investors in the deployment of the microbial technology to help the people in developing countries learn to feed themselves using low cost soil amendments which don’t pollute the soil like chemical fertilizers, yet achieve significant yield improvement and require less water. This technology is an excellent low cost way to improve food production using non-toxic, natural soil amendments.” ( http://bugsatwork.net/blog/2010/07/11/bugs-negotiating-with-investors-for-canadian-fermentation-plant-license/ )

US Microbics and its subsidaries offer the Bio-Miracle/CRC 400 Series for Agricultural Bioremediation ( http://bugsatwork.net/blog/products/products/ ) For 25 years, the Bio-Miracle/CRC 400 Series has been recognized as one of the premier agricultural supplements on the market. The product has been successfully used for increasing growth rates, reducing diseases, and creating substantial water savings in cotton, grapes, avocados, wheat, barley, rice, citrus fruit, strawberries, and numerous other agricultural products.

Here is the catalog with incredibly detailed descriptions for each product. http://bugsatwork.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/2008-Catalog-04032008.pdf Start at page 58. If I copied and pasted this, I may have the award for longest post ever on IHUB. LOL

I don't know about you, but I hope to hear something develop from BUGS discussions with Canada and China. There are so many countries throughout the world that have terrible soil quality or lack of water and resources and these could be perfect opportunities for US Microbics.
