Hi cyn,
Wanted to respond to you yesterday, but while doing my usual weekend research, I realized I needed a break from market...
Glad to see I'm not the only female here...and yes, this is a friendly place - lots of sharing and very little negativity.
SPX: checked dly, wly, mly charts and all hovering at BB centre line, where I believe we will stay for this week...with a strong bias for downside to bottom BB at least IMO. I agree with Glen's EW chart..Sept, Oct might get ugly. Tuesday, housing and industrials will move market and it's also expiration week-we will get bounced around... waiting to see if EURO, FTSE take a dive...we shall see :)
VIX: yes, the gap, vix is always gapping; if we get a bounce on SPX it might fill...but, consider the price movement on the VXX...very volatile...traders just waiting to pounce on first sign of downturn. I am assuming since latest uptrend is broken, many have entered positions on VXX and will hold/add at any short-term low. I have noticed that when SPX falls 2/3%, VXX pps goes ballistic...look at the action last May and June...notice the overnight gaps!!! Nice little morning profits..In between sips of java :)))
Caution: VXX is for trading-not holding (hm, where have I heard that before...LOL)

Global: Hate to say this but oil prices might move here given the Isreal/Iran situation...
Circuit Breakers: I believe it's 10% and market closes 20 minutes...perhaps it's time to anticipate/prepare for such an event. When using stops on long positons it becomes a market order and which means it can get filled at ridiculously low price.
