MF4: I hear you loud and clear brother. The more they decide to tax me the less I'll work. Out of 300 million or so people 40-50 million are outright multigenerational parasites and another 50-75 million are marginal producers, surviving only with supplemental government handouts like earned income tax credits, etc. If we continue down the 'tax the rich' road those evil rich people will not invest, will not start or expand their businesses, will not hire people...and the end result is that the more you tax the so-called rich the less you actually collect in taxes. How many times do they have to pull out this old playbook that simply does not work? Every time tax cuts have been implemented it has resulted in an expansion of tax receipts...because the producers choose to produce more, hire more, spend more, etc. The way to get us out of theis Great Depression II is to cut the size and scope of government at every level and incentivise the producers of the country with tax cuts and accelerated depreciation for capital expenditures to expand their businesses. And incentivise people to save more, to start and grow an emergency fund for themselves so they don't look to the government to bail them out of every conceivable problem in their lives. We are punishing success and encouraging and rewarding failure at an alarming rate in this country. Only half the country (probably less now) even pay as much as $1.00 in Federal Income taxes (net). Too many moochers, not enough horses to pull the wagon. It ends in the next two election cycles in 2010 and 2012 or we are finished.....we will just be a large banana republic.
