Lee Miller and Feel Golf Company

Over the past years, hundreds of Professional Golfers throughout the world have relied on Feel Golf's Wedges, Irons, Fairway Woods and Drivers to vie for prize money against some of the best players in the world. In addition, thousands of amateur golfers have significantly lowered their stroke averages as a result of the unparalleled forgiveness and performance provided by Feel Golf's material innovation and club design. This success on the course comes from the expertise and club design of Feel Golf's CEO, Dr. Lee Miller. An engineering background (PhD.), coupled with years of experience in the material aerospace industry and playing experience on the PGA Tours, Lee Miller (a.k.a. Dr. Feel) melds material innovation with a player's touch to produce the most "player sensitive" golf clubs in the world.

Miller originally developed a theory about the term 'feel' back in 1985 and began gathering data to test and develop his concept. In his quest, he studied the golf clubs and swing characteristics of a range of golfers including a number of Tour Professionals. He witnessed numerous Tour Professionals performing gyrations with both their bodies and their hands to compensate for equipment problems, Miller assessed that while many of these great players blamed the problems on their swings, very few of them, if any, actually had swing problems. Instead, most of these players had excellent swings but were being forced to compensate and play beneath their potential due to equipment problems.

The correct 'feel' according to Miller, comes from the various club components functioning as a 'whole' in order to bring the club square at impact. During the swing, each club component acts on its own, according to the laws of physics. The challenge is to coordinate the moments of force of these components so they fuse precisely at impact, providing optimum trajectory for maximum distance and accuracy. Under Miller's system, key club components such as head weight, center of gravity, shaft flex and swing weight are all assigned specific numeric values.

Born in 1986 on the PGA Tour and as a Michigan Corporation in 1990, Feel Golf quickly built a worldwide reputation for crafting the finest and most versatile wedges in the industry until Lee Miller retired to California in 1996. Due to player demand, Miller soon emerged from retirement and re-launched Feel Golf in 2000 as a California Corporation. Today Feel Golf has grown from a once tiny club manufacturer into a major world competitor. Utilizing testing knowledge and input from some of the world's best players, Miller has been able to produce the most player-sensitive clubs in golf, and in the process secured hundreds of unpaid player endorsements and glowing industry reviews. In fact, all major manufacturers introduced new wedges in 2003 in an attempt to recapture lost TOUR players who made the switch to Feel Golf.
