Ah, Lots of postulations! I remember Yong as Chinese (un-important fact or fiction) and as you say I do not believe he ever posted to public sites on X_Dev. He was always in the background, exception being when specific problems arose and he contacted me directly or visa versa. I lost all my email contacts after a massive failure of my computer system in my whole house-hold last October. I was lucky to recover a couple of my machines, but lost all data and one X_dev program (another irrrelvent piece of info), but I had not been talking much to Yong in the last few years as my health situation was deteriorating at a fast clip and took priority over everything, including income. It was a nice nose dive to a good recovery, a micron above impact. So here I am talking to you about recovery of x_dev. A breath of fresh air.
Yong, I hope he is doing well, I worked for seven years in the military industrial hub of San Diego and would not wish it on anyone. I escaped to Colorado. I don't think he was making much from X_dev and without user fees of some sort I do not think we can expect this site to go on unmanaged for ever. I have time and could manage this site, but we need to have a enough cash flow to offset data feed charges and find a good web master/hacker, I have always preferred hacking but I think it is harder now days.
I really doubt the x_dev is still selling.
It is disturbing st see the end of such a fine little program that gives the ordinary bloke a handle on the market, except for spikes up or down, at which point you need to reference the manual, if it still exists. Candle sticks also are important here, but it appears to be dead and unless you or I get some feed back from Myst et al we have no options.
