Green Globe International, Inc. (Pink Sheets:GGII), the worldwide owner of the Green Globe brand, today announced that it has opened the Asia Pacific region to partner Green Globe Certification and will allow this licensee to use and promote the Green Globe brand in the region. The brand had previously granted exclusive license for the region to Green Globe Asia Pacific. As a result of this action, Green Globe Certification now has a non-exclusive license to use and promote the Green Globe brand in certification applications worldwide.

"We are pleased to announce the expansion of Green Globe Certification's brand license and look forward to its growth in the Asia Pacific," said Steven R. Peacock, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Green Globe International. "It had become apparent that the brand had not been advancing as we had hoped in the Asia Pacific, especially considering the region's significant growth potential. Due to Green Globe Certification's effective work in other parts of the world, as well as the history of the brand in the Asia Pacific, we believe that Green Globe Certification will have great success in expanding its programs in the region."

Green Globe Certification is based in Los Angeles, California, and is currently represented in over 83 countries with a network of preferred partnerships in Europe, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and India as well as Singapore, Bali and Hong Kong, among others. All businesses certified by Green Globe for sustainable operation and management adhere to the Green Globe Standard, which is among the most respected sustainability standard in use today. The Green Globe Standard v1.3 has recently been updated to comply withGlobal Sustainable Tourism Criteria(GSTC), and is published at http://www.greenglobe.com/standard.

The GSTC is an initiative coordinated by the United Nations Foundation to aggregate sustainable tourism criteria from different regions around the world. Green Globe Certification participated in this program and, under the guidance of the Green Globe International Advisory Group (IAG), has now updated its Standard to align with the GSTC.

The Green Globe brand and program, which traces its roots back to the United Nations Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit in 1992, where 182 Heads of State endorsed the Agenda 21 principles of Sustainable Development, has primarily been used in the travel and tourism industry but is now being expanded to include a growing number of environmentally responsible businesses in a variety of market sectors. The Green Globe brand is an ideal symbol for the world's increasing awareness of environmental responsibility and response to global climate change.
