NTT DoCoMo to buy out rest of PacketVideo -Nikkei



TOKYO Aug 2 (Reuters) - Japan's NTT DoCoMo (9437.T) plans to spend about 10 billion yen ($115.7 million) to buy out the rest of U.S. multimedia software firm PacketVideo from NextWave Wireless WAVE.PK, the Nikkei business daily reported on Monday.

In July last year, Japan's largest mobile carrier acquired a stake of about 35 percent in PacketVideo, the Nikkei said.

NTT DoCoMo hopes the acquisition of PacketVideo will boost development of video software for its next-generation high-speed mobile phone service scheduled to be launched in December, the paper said. ($1=86.45 Yen) (Reporting by Taiga Uranaka)
