Hot Stocks Of The Day: RIMM, WCRX, SOLR, TLAB, HLCS
Research In Motion Ltd. (NASDAQ: RIMM: 57.53, 1.83) rallied nearly 3% on renewed speculation that BlackBerry maker plans to introduce a tablet computer to compete with Apple Inc's iPad. The company recently bought the Blackpad.com domain name, adding fuel to the tablet rumors.

Warner Chilcott plc (NASDAQ: WCRX: 25.57, 1.18) share rallied more than 7% on Friday after it announced a recapitalization pursuant to which it intends to incur $2.25 billion of new debt to fund a special dividend to ordinary shareholders of $8.50 per share, or approximately $2.15 billion in the aggregate. The new debt is expected to be comprised of a combination of senior secured term loans and additional unsecured debt. The company currently expects to declare and pay the special cash dividend before the end of the third quarter of 2010. In addition, the company said that it now expects to report full-year 2010 net income in the range of $3.45 to $3.55 per share, before adjusting for a 20 cents to 25 cents impact from the recapitalization. Previously, the company expected to report earnings in the range of $3.30 to $3.40 per share. Adjusted total revenue for the full year 2010 is expected to be near the lower end of the current guidance range of $2.90 billion to $2.95 billion. Analysts currently expect the company to report earnings of $3.38 per share, excluding items, on revenue of $2.99 billion.

Shares of GT Solar International Inc. (NASDAQ: SOLR: 6.49, 0.24) surged more than 4% after solar equipment maker announced that it has acquired privately-held Crystal Systems, Inc. Crystal Systems manufactures high-quality, large area sapphire substrates used in the LED, defense, medical and aerospace industries. The company will positively contribute to GT Solar's operating income over the next 18 months and is expected to be accretive on an EPS basis by year end FY12.

Shares of network equipment maker Tellabs Inc (NASDAQ:TLAB: 6.97, -0.42) sank as much as 8% after AT&T named rival Alcatel-Lucent among its three suppliers for the carrier's IP/MPLS/Ethernet and Evolved networks. The other two are Cisco and Juniper Networks.

Helicos BioSciences Corporation (NASDAQ: HLCS: 0.53, 0.09) jumped more than 25% on Friday, a day after it announced a publication demonstrating the detection and quantification of novel small RNA molecules using Helicos' single-molecule sequencing technology.
