Hi Unique:

Ever hear of "the King" (Lebron James), Ochocinco (actually changed his name legally to such), Magic (Ervin Johnson), Brangelina (Brad and Angelina), Mr Hustle (Pete Rose), Mailman (Karl Malone), Buffalo Bill (William Cody), Barry (Obama), Dubya (G.W. Bush), Bubba (G Clinton...and Forrest Gumps buddy), etc etc.


I love your examples here of these people, but I'll bet they don't want more people calling them on their cell phone. Face it, the people that they want to be available to already have them in their speed dial, probably listed under Magic, Mailman, Bubba, etc, etc. So they are not going to buy this idea.

Even using your address book would require clicking to get to the book and then selecting the contact. No real difference than entering a text number and the vanity word


If there is really no difference, then why buy it?

There are no benefits, really. The whole motivation/reason behind a vanity keyword is just like a vanity plate: VANITY.


How would the Vanity Key Word 'owner' explain why anyone who knows that vain person would want to replace their already easy to use method to CALL the vanity owner?
If there is no benefit, which we both agree, nobody is going to buy. That's business.

Vanity Keywords would be just like a vanity car license plate


The only thing they have in common is the word Vanity. Car plates can be seen, perfect for the vain person. The King is not going to place an ad in the paper saying you can now contact me by texting KING to 46800.
The kids today text because they do not want to talk, they won't buy it.
Also too much room for abuse by a business person going this cheap route. (A poster did bring this up previously. Then again all the reasons against this idea have been brought up before, and they don't appear to make sense to you.)
Please don't take any of this the wrong way, I like new ideas, and I like you (from what I seem to know, anyway.)
There is only a certain amount of time that can be spent marketing GO800 to create revenues, and this is not high on the to do list. I can't say it, or something like it will never happen, but it will not happen anytime soon.

Vanity Keywords.....yes, I've beat this drum in the past but think it's time to beat it again.


It is time to put the drum away for good and march forward.
