It could easily be spewing like that and not be commercial in deepwater. Sorry to disappoint you. The Macondo well was thought to hold only about 50 million bbls of oil which is only marginally commercial in deepwater in the Gulf of Mexico. It might not be commercial in W. Africa deepwater on a stand alone basis.
