(excerpts)

The NFDA 2009 show in Boston was electric with enthusiasm, curiosity and creative marketing energy in spite of a dreary national economic outlook.

The search was on for new revenue streams. The aisles were buzzing with anticipation as members walked from booth to booth, gleaning every ounce of knowledge they could gather to take home and implement. A tremendous selection of unique customized products offered viable solutions for increasing revenue, by allowing the families to select personalized and meaningful tribute products as keepsakes for family members and friends. Personalization reigned supreme over the “cookie cutter” funeral package. One size no longer fits all.

spend a larger portion on memorial products and keepsake items for themselves and for close family friends. These “extras” can be included as a part of different packages or they can be used by the staff as an aftercare gift. The delivery of these items is a thoughtful reason to make a home visit to present pre-need insurance policies as well as continue excellent customer care

Does not give dollar amount but shows where the trend is heading

Aren't they opening a new company called New World Gift Company that deals with these products?

(like in the DD sticky - again, that post already got this idea)
