Mark Walla is a veteran of over a decade of technical management and project development. His areas of expertise include IT infrastructure, operating systems, networking, e-commerce and security. He served as Director of Professional Services at PDS Advanced Technologies, and has been the technical lead of a number of extensive UNIX, Windows NT, and networking projects. Additionally, Walla has consulted for Microsoft Corporation and Hewlett Packard; at Microsoft, he helped develop integration strategy and materials for the national tour Integration 97/98. While consulting for US West, he evaluated network management tools. At Bay Networks, he was the technical lead for sustaining released software and customer hot site issues. He was also a software engineer at Motorola, with software design and testing responsibilities. At Storage Technology, he was an embedded software engineer. He is the co-author of the UltimateWindows 2000 Administration Guide (Addison Wesley 2000) and the Ultimate Windows Server 2003 System Administration Guide (Addison Wesley 2002). Walla is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), and holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Colorado.
