Maddy,

The President wants to repeal the Bush tax cuts which would mean the 15% capital gains bracket will be gone. If that happens it will take effect Jan 1, 2011. Not sure, but it would probably revert to .20%. Keep your fingers crossed that the cuts aren't repealed. Most pundants believe it would have a negative effect on the Markets overall.
