I agree, I think Almont is a shell. No one could be that stupid and have that much money to throw around. Out of curiosity I made some calls this afternoon to get to the bottom of the EPA certification. I went to the expert that Coates is waving as proof of EPA compliance.

At 1:22 July 20th 2010 I spoke to Mike Kinko at Compliance and Research Services, the firm whose letter is being used as proof of EPA compliance. Mark Informs me that his firm was hired in late August 2006 by Coates International to make application for an EPA waver for 2006. (Mark’s firm is on the EPA’s approved lab list http://www.epa.gov/otaq/consumer/lablist.pdf) Mark said they applied and the waver was granted. However that waver expired 12/31/2006 and has not been renewed. (Such a waver is needed for long term beta testing.)

The 14 liter engine has never been tested or certified for sale or use by the EPA. Mark confirmed that under EPA regulations it is currently against federal law for Coates to offer for sale, sell or operate the engine for anything else but R&D. Mike reports that his firm has done no further testing on any Coates product. There is client privilege regarding any impressions he personally has of the technology which could only be waved by a letter from Coates International. Anybody want to ask George for such a letter and then call Mike for the truth about this engine? (908) 561-1824 I think Mike wanted to tell us more…
Regarding Canadian law, several web sites make this point “Engine Emission Regulations align the engine certification values with those of the US EPA”. Generally if an engine is non compliant in the US it is also non compliant in Canada. This NGO website, http://www.dieselnet.com/standards/ca/ cites talks about this fact at length. Anyone want to ask George about this? Where is Mr. King or NJ?
