You mention a tight economy as a reason that people will not choose personalized funeral arrangements but I feel that this is not a valid point. If you watch tv at all there are many plans out there that people purchase to help with their final arrangements. Another point to consider is that Eternal Image products are priced in the mid range of any of the funeral products that are out in the market at this time.

How many families do you think are going to buy a budget urn for their loved one that has passed who was a lifelong Yankee fan for instance? Do you think that a family with one of the end of life plans in place are not going to honor the loved ones final wishes so that they can pocket the cash? How about someone who has had a lifetime committment to the Catholic Church? Does their family go out and buy a plain casket or urn or for basically the same price do they buy a Vatican Observatory piece.


I have read that Matthews believes that the VOF line will be their largest selling line since they know that there are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world. We don't need to capture the entire market but just a small percentage to be successfull.
