3454,

My honest opinion is that Strat is merely a shell company in its current state, although not completely dormant like a true shell.

I have not spoken with anyone from the company directly since my visit last year, although I do keep in touch with people who have.

I honestly do not know what the plan is for SPRL (the stock). I do not know if the entity Strat Petroleum still exists. I do know that Joe Frasko has (had) been busy with EOR Petroleum and their stripper well remediation in Pennsylvania. I've posted on that in the past. I haven't found or heard of any significant change to that business. Frasko is also still involved with Aurora Capital which provided financing to Strat back in the day. I don't believe that Aurora has any relationship with Strat at current, but that's just my guess.

I also know that last I heard (3 months ago or so) that Sam was still working on the venture in Russia for sludge remediation. We have all assumed this to be Eco Recovery LTD, in fact I'm fairly certain without knowing definitively. I don't know what the current state of that venture is; however, Sam has been plugging away at this opportunity for several years now. I didn't get any indication that he was going to give up on this.

I believe that either one of these entities could possibly be reverse-merged into the SPRL shell to roll out that business publicly. I don't know if that is the plan, it just remains a possibility.

Having said all of this, I would not be a buyer of SPRL at this time. I would't necessarily be a seller either, although you could use losses to offset capital gains elsewhere each year. There just isn't enough information available on what they are doing and when Sam has provided estimates and time frames they have been sadly inaccurate, unattainable or forgotten.

I will follow up with one of my contacts to see if they've heard anything up to date.

Regards,

Rick
