I am no expert, but I have been trading for some time and have watched a few of my orders carefully over the years. I have noticed with the BB stocks that if there is not much volume they take their sweet time to fill your order, especially if it is just outside the bid/ask. It sounds like Datek simply got you the best price for your shares. Datek probably didn't fill all of the order because there wasn't enough on the sell/ask side. So, they bid blocks of your order and somebody stepped up lower than the first trade. I think it is as simple as that.
