The root of all evil is man, plain and simple. The rest is just nature. We have been giving free will, we can choose, and our choices have consequences. There is no mystery there. Money has done as much good as it has bad in terms of the end result, but it only has value because we (man) have placed value on it and tied many of our cultures to it's collection at all costs. We are the root, from which either a weed or a flower can bloom.
