I basically see two lines of thought in Keith's post. Now that you have pointed it out one line of thought is comparing INTCs differentation to AMDs.

I see where you could interpret it as FUD but as I read more and more of Keith's writing I'm beggining to think he just uses poor phrasing and/or choice of words. Maybe it is intentional to stir debate or play with short term sentiment, maybe it is unintentional (subconcious thoughts tainting his writing, maybe english isn't his first language, or maybe it is but he is bad at it).

It would have been clearer if he would have said "the new Sempron will be like the old Athlon 64" instead of just saying they would be identical.

The reality is that Athlon 64 will evolve to stay ahead of whatever the new Sempron is. That doesn't mean that it won't be an issue when AMD makes a price list. There has always been an overlap/crowding around the transition points between socket A/754 and there is likely to be overlap/crowding in pricing around the sempron/A64 divide.
