He says that it wouldn't be fair to the other retailers to discount the wholesale price they give Wal-Mart.

Fair or not, if the world ever got out to other retailers they could threaten to drop the product unless they matched Wal-Marts "special price."

At least that's what I've ascertained from reading the CEO's memos.
