bocxfans. radio free bocxland is on the air.

first of all. a recent post put forward wild ideas about afp. just like ol'dc steve use to do on raging bull. this little paste job from wikipedia should clear up the unintentional misinformation (the same poster posted that inverness's elisa platform with pipetting arm is a mass analyzer):

This gene (troydaby) encodes alpha-fetoprotein, a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal life. The protein is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the alpha-fetoprotein and albumin genes are present in tandem on chromosome 4. Alpha-fetoprotein is found in monomeric as well as dimeric and trimeric forms, and binds copper, nickel, fatty acids and bilirubin.[4]

The human fetus has the highest amount of AFP levels found in humans. These AFP levels gradually decrease after birth down to the low, but detectable levels found in adults by the time a newborn reaches 8 to 12 months. AFP has no known function in healthy adults. In normal fetuses, AFP binds the hormone estradiol. AFP is measured in pregnant women, using maternal blood or amniotic fluid, as a screening test for a subset developmental abnormalities: it is principally increased in open neural tube defects and omphalocoele & decreased in Down syndrome. It is also measured in non-pregnant women, other adults, and children, serving as a biomarker to detect a subset of tumors.

In adults, levels over 500 nanograms/milliliter of AFP are seen in only three situations: Hepatocellular carcinoma, Germ cell tumors, and metastatic cancer in the liver originating from other primary tumors elsewhere.

yes bocxfans. if my little birdie was correct and goshen cancer care center is responsible for this latest study, rest assured that many more oncologists will come aboard.

again. there is a very compelling theory behind recaf's specificity. that is why the interest from top flight professionals and organizations. can't really figure out the theory behind measuring fibrogen when so many other non cancerous events can also trigger changes in the amount of fibrogen.

time to get excited bocxfans. the latest pr states that this was the first set of examples. more must be coming. how long to they moniter post surgical oncology patients? things take time in this space. our shorting/manipulating entity certainly knows this.

sincerely,

mr. mata
