Reality shows aren't bought based on what's "stupid." The fact is, those are the shows that get ratings and advertisers; thus, they're all over the place. Reality TV isn't an aesthetic discipline. It appeals to a demographic that advertisers fight over. I'm sure Cowboy Mining would make compelling reality programming, but compelling isn't enough to guarantee selling.
