re: What is really amazing is AMD had no clue they were missing the number by over $100M or 15% until after the quarter closed. Their sales and channel people should all be fired... but then again, I'll bet the bosses just refused to listen.

That's assuming that they didn't know well before today. AMD's paper conference call yesterday was typical, throw out some "good news" before the bad news hits. To my suprise, the financial press didn't see yesterday's vapor news as good news.

I'm VERY curious about the analysts reactions. Will any of them have the balls to talk about cash burn, about AMD's ability to survive? In this new era of analyst honesty, will the analysts be a bit more skeptical of AMD's future? Will anyone upgrade Intel, on the off chance that AMD doesn't survive?
