Everyone should feel bad about it but remember one thing. There are thousands of employees of BP who had nothing to do with it. There are thousands of shareholders of BP who had nothing to do with it. If certain certain people at BP were grossly negligent then go after the people that were responsible and throw them in jail. Do not destroy that company or an entire industry just because a few people did wrong. Believe it or not oil companies have very high standards for both safety and the environment these days. That doesn't mean everyone follows those standards.

Millions of people depend on the oil industry for their jobs. And hundreds of millions if not billions depend on them to meet their every day energy needs. Don't make a villain of the entire industry because of the wrongdoing of a few.

Anadarko is a partner to BP. BP just billed them hundreds of millions of dollars for their share of the clean up. This could bankrupt Anadarko too unless they can show gross negligence on the part of BP. I live a few miles from the Anadarko headquarters. I have friends there that could lose their jobs because their company was a nonoperating partner with BP. They had nothing to do with it. Life is not fair at times and many are blameless.
