Mark Canton

In his two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, Mark Canton has helped bring more than 300 pictures to the silver screen. Canton initially joined Warner Bros. in 1980. He rose to Senior Vice President in 1983 and by 1985 was named President of Worldwide Theatrical Production. During his tenure at Warner Bros., Mr. Canton was instrumental in developing - among others - the Batman, Lethal Weapon, and National Lampoon's Vacation franchises. His creative influence at the studio was key to the creation and release of such films as:

Canton departed Warner Bros. in 1991 and joined Sony Pictures Entertainment's Columbia Pictures as President, and by 1994 had risen to Chairman of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Companies, with all creative, operational and management responsibility for Columbia Pictures, Triumph Films, SPE's international theatrical operations and Columbia TriStar's strategic motion picture alliances. During his time at Columbia TriStar, Canton oversaw the development and release of a wide range of critically acclaimed box office hits, including:

In 1997 Canton formed his own production entity, The Canton Company, and in 2002 he joined Artists Production Group (APG) as Partner, Chairman, and CEO. Two films produced under The Canton Company and APG Banners were distributed in early 2004. In March of 2004, Warner Bros. released Taking Lives starring Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, Kiefer Sutherland and Oliver Martinez, and in the spring, Lions Gate Films released Godsend starring Robert De Niro, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Greg Kinnear.

Through Atmosphere Entertainment MM, Canton continues to control a large number of high profile projects in various stages of development, pre-production and post production. Atmosphere Entertainment MM is currently in production on George Romero's Land of the Dead the latest in the immensely popular series of films that date back to 1968's Night of the Living Dead.
