Now I'm thinking it is something along the lines of an "Emergency Pipeline Repair System" (EPRS)

looks like a large mudmat for support in lifting a pipeline from the seabed to repair, cut, splice, hot-tap, whatever.

so I tuned V-ger in to the "subsea pipeline repair" scent and it started sniffing

found this blurb in an article from March 2010 - "An operator in the Gulf of Mexico is customizing an EPRS for its own use in the Deepwater, around its specific critical assets. So are a few others."

then I found this - BINGO

I know, limited value in knowing what it is except that there is stuff going on and even though the new slideshow pics don't have dates, we know they are current because of brwtrpilot's drive-by shots that showed a glimpse of the EPRS in the background and the ether is kicking in again and I am starting to write run-on sentences that imitate one of the unnamed Houston people that writes unintelligible technical descriptions of products for their website and PDF catalog

hey, watch those sparks around the 4th! Ether is heavier than air ya know! Ask Richard Pryor!

LOL, good night
