i dunno, muddy waters sure had a lot of points.

i will say that i had bought shares of opai, which turned to orpn, which turned to opn, i believe..

at this point, i'm not wading back in... but it is still out of my price range.. not to mention the negative publicity.

but for you swingers out there that, by all means, go for it.. i know joe turned some serious profits today.

i'm just a chicken, i'd rather bet on things that i "know" -- hard to say because i never really know everything.. if i did, i'd only own 1 stock. diversification protects me against various levels of my own stupidity, the stupidity of others, and the stupidity of whatever else can happen that i don't know about.

in my opinion, the positive people are just looking at the numbers. i'm an industrial engineer, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_engineering
actually, i was top of my class, 3.9 --- and note that the optimization classes i came in to the final with around a C, and set the curve for the class, closing out with an A (i think that kind of relates to the topic at hand?? dunno)

(can't say that about business school)

i learn how to design assembly lines, calculate outputs, and do all sorts of calibration stuff for factories... and i have to say that muddy water's arguments are feasible, just glancing at them... the positive people out there are just looking at the numbers, minus rick pearson, but again, based on the interview (video and article) i'm confident that he confirmed his bias... which was that he wanted to say it's a strong buy, at $13.

but to muddy waters credit, they did argue that they visited initially to write a "strong buy" recommendation, but their null hypothesis was disproven and they apparently saw lots of leading indicators for fraud... all of which i've heard about and kind of make sense.

1 truck that day?
the volumes dont add up
the factory doesnt appear to be large enough to be doing the revenues that they are posting

but, what do i know? i am not there. i do believe a few key points, just because you bought a stock and it's down, does not mean that you were dumb for buying, but that said, look to jesse livermore:

markets are never wrong, opinions often are.

i know that i dont know
