wbmw: You should take a more balanced view of things. Both Intel and AMD are down over 80% from their bubble highs. Both are at 5-year lows. Both have cost investors huge sums of money, and both have lost a comparable percentage of share price. However, if you want to talk about mass loss of wealth, consider that Intel has gone from a market cap of 500 billion down to about 90 billion. AMD has gone from 15 billion to about 2 billion. As such, Intel has cost investors 410 billion in actual loss of wealth, while AMD has cost investors 13 billion.

Investors in both companies should have heeded the warnings. Both companies may still have a significant fall ahead of them. AMD is losing gobs of money, and Intel is still significantly overvalued by historical standards. If AMD drops below $5, institutions will no longer be able to buy. If Intel does not start to see some significant growth, its still lofty price will not be justified. I would not touch either one right now.
