Guys,

I have in my hand the 1st iteration (TruWave Plus)of ZYXI's new device. Same shell and interface, but the guts are quite different. I like it already. They have combined the functionality of three existing devices into one . It may or may not increase production costs a little, but I would certainly think it will greatly reduce the costs associated with manufacturing and stocking three distinct devices. The biggest advantage will be the simplicity of marketing and billing one device versus three. Keeping it simple tends to work on us medical people because most physicians and therapists are too busy to take the time to learn or understand many products and the billing requirements for each. So giving out the device to patients has just been streamlined. ZYXI may now has the ability to change it's classification of the device as needed - which should help them get paid more and more often.

There is another version, the NexWave, coming down the pipe (Q1 11?) with these "guts" in a new box/interface. If ZYXI has a more attractive gadget (that is at least as pretty as the competitors) I think they will do very well. Their business model is SOOOOOOOOO much better than EMPI because of the 60 day coverage guarantee. EMPI sends the dogs after the patients the day they get their devices.

Time will tell...
