Weird conjunction for me: when we winning all those youth titles, I taught what I called a modified Brazilian philosophy, ie, ball control, ball control, ball control & build up the attack from the backfield, with no 50/50 balls--especially in the backfield, even from the keeper.

But once we crossed midfield, and entered the final third, I wanted to see *the first player* with a chance to aim for the far post to HIT IT! We got lots of creative scoring chances that way. To that end, my teams looked more like Portugal in the match against N. Korea...

...and less like Brazil, whose players *insist* on converting up close or on set pieces.

This will be a very interesting match, philosophically as well as technically. Basically, Brazil will be forced to get creative (again).
