This in reference to the latest bantering about Generic Keywords, specifically PIZZA.
Posters/longs approach your local pizza joints and pre-qualified them to be prospects. Telephone, and ask the owner if he can meet you for five minutes so you can explain how he can get a greater return on his EXISTING advertisements.
When you go there, stop by the to-go counter and pick up a to-go menu before you meet him/her.
Show him the menu, point to the phone number and say "would you like to see a way your customers can talk to Sally, (the girl taking to-go orders that you got the menu from) and place their orders without dialing this number, or even knowing your phone number?"
On his menu, under the phone #, write "or text PIZZA to 46800"
Now have your cell phone ready (and practice this so you can do it fast) and text GEICO to 46800.
Now that he sees how customers are connected fast, inform him PIZZA is still available for him to use in _____ (insert area code here). Keep in mind in highly populated areas there may be more than one area code. Tell him the price for the area code(s) and ask him if he would like to test it for free. Tell him friends, family, employees whoever he wants to tell, can test it.
You have just pre-qualified a prospect. You either work as a bird dog for the Ambassador closest to you, or call me. I'll close deals anywhere, Juno Alaska to Juno Beach Florida.
Say average fee is $150 per month for PIZZA. Twenty posters/longs help close a word every two weeks, do the math. A new word to work every two weeks for six months, do the math.
No more crying about what the numbers are, we will have control to KNOW what OUR numbers are.
