It's unfortunate that Ariad didn't use DEFO in combination with another drug in their SUCCEED trial

I'd be interested to know what approved IGF1R, VEGF, MEK, or PI3K you think they should have used in a combination trial 3 years ago? Or do you actually think Ariad should have combined rida with another company's clinical stage drug and hope that the FDA would approve both of them...not hardly. It's one thing to know that multiple pathways are active but its another thing entirely to know which ones, in what combinations and for what indications. Knowing something is happening isn't the same thing as being able to develop a safe drug that's effective. It's easy to sit here today and monday morning quarterback a decision that was made 3 years ago but what you are suggesting would have been a recipe for disaster.
