It was a whole series of tidbits from...

the infamous CEO updates authored by various CEO's. One example is this one:

The installation of the IVT, including our custom electronic engine control unit (ECU) designed to maximize fuel efficiency across a wide variety of different driving conditions, is progressing on schedule.

The accompanying pictures demonstrate that the design of the IVT allows for a perfect fit into the vehicle. We anticipate commencing testing of the GM Tahoe with our custom designed ECU very soon.

And of course there is this example that lays out the reason for the delays:

From our experience in testing the Dodge Ram, we recognized that we would have to develop our own ECU. Our experience revealed that our opportunities could be significantly limited by relying on an OEM to develop our control unit. For example, patent opportunities can be developed with the design of the ECU. Therefore, we could be placed in a position of sharing a patent with an OEM covering a critical function. This could limit our options and hamper our ability to maximize shareholder value. Developing our own ECU caused some delay, however the extra time has allowed us to fine tune our IVT™ and ECU and to strengthen our overall patent protection. We are confident that our shareholders support these decisions. We will continue to take all necessary actions to ensure that the IVT™ achieves the best results while we put in place the strongest possible patent protection.

We need to keep in mind that, for the most part, this is really a software problem. Couple that with the fact that the IVT have been modified several times, and just think about how many modifications have been made without any standardization by the OEM's. Making it work in an old GM Tahoe, or an old Dodge Ram or making it work in a single FTV is one thing, but taking it to the next step just has to be the reason for the delay.

But, of course, none of this was the point that I was expressing. My point only concerned the change in the presentation of the betterment results in the various web pages of the new versus the old versions of the official web site; and the unusual percentages that are displayed on the testing results chart.
