Yeah, I've been quiet lately. I'm sort of sitting back and enjoying the newbies go through all the same day-by-day gyrations we all did for years.
The share price debates are a great illustration. Some moan when they see the share price hit another low, or when it languishes at the sub 50 cent level week after week.
Others admonish these "weak" brothers for worrying about a "few cents lost" per share when we are all looking at the big payoff. They say, "regardless of whether the "cosmic announcement jump" starts at 30 cents or $1, it won't make a tinker's damn when we're cruising at $7.00 and rising."
I can see both sides. If my average cost is $1.50+ after 3 years, 30 cents doesn't warm my heart one friggin degree. My Axis portfolio is worth 20% of my original investment. <SOB!> Should that bother me? Damn right! Nothing is certain is this life including this deal. Could it all go to hell in a handbasket? Yes, again. All that rational analysis can be a heavy burden when the stock price hovers around 30 cents. If you have a substantive position, you can't even sell your greatly diminished portfolio without causing pandemonium in the Axis SP, so you hold on and sweat. And the 50 cent level tells me that NO ONE sees any firm indication that the announcement is "imminent".
On the other hand, if your average price is 50 cents you might feel a bit less pressured. Perhaps you can psychologically afford to be a more enthusiastic and exhuberant "believer".
Who's right? In my opionion, both...and neither. The truth changes depending on the perspective from which you view it. I guess the lesson here, for me, is that equally savvy people can see the same set of circumstances, and interpret them in radically different ways. I have to remind myself to avoid being too glib when another sees the world differently than I do. (Even you, Dr. Evil.)
Sheesh!! I didn't mean to get so heavy! Please let me share with you my current view of the Axis investment.
I'm extremely frustrated and acutely disappointed that it has taken so long to put this damn thing together.
BUT...I remain very hopeful that the painful wait will soon be over. Lots of hard work continues to be done by people managing this effort. Their perseverance and focus on the goal has been extraordinary. The right things appear to be happening, and I'm quite hopeful that there will be some further indications of progress in the coming weeks.
And now the disclosure. Please note! All this is my opinion only. I'm not an insider. (Petey sees himself as an insider, but who's going to pay any attention to a peg-legged parrot wearing a sombrero?)
GLTA! Go Axis!
