I would also say that people who lost money in the situations you describe were the problem. They would hear about a new stock that was being looked at, a bunch of people would run out and blindly buy as much as they could - driving the price up, and when they were done buying, the price would crash. This did not happen on MRNJ. MRNJ crashed due to the increase in A/S.
