Mac Mini and the G4 Processor

The Mac Mini is a great system for someone wanting to run Mac OS X on a budget. You can upgrade the Monitor, Keyboard and mouse as your budget allows. That kind of flexibility has been missing from Apple's system line-up for a long time. This is also good news for those manufacturers that have been making peripherals for Apple systems.

Is the G4 Obsolete ?

Not by a long shot. Freescale is developing Dual-Core G4's so the G4 processor still has a very long life ahead of it. The low power consumption of the G4 makes it ideal for a Mac Mini enclosure.

For those who want the absolute best performance Apple can deliver you need to consider an Apple system with a much faster bus speed than a Mac Mini. The iMac G5 or dual Power Mac G5's will fit the bill when only the highest performance is needed.

Apple now has a Mac for every users needs. The Mac mini fits the bill for the average user at a cost that will not bust the piggy bank.
