I have been very clear on my opinion of SeaView products, I dont I have voiced them here but on RB, Here is my view:
The marine products are very good, I have a super mini cam, I have no problems with it, I have lots of friends that have the marine products. I beleive the marine division will be a solid contributor to revenue moving forward.
I have some questions on the projections for this division, I have seen some estimates that the marine division will, in the future, bill as much as 40 million. My opinion is marine sales will top at 12 - 15 million a year, MAX , in the next 3-5 years. There is allot of competition in the marine field, I have found over 10 seperate marine camera manufacturer's that have products similiar to the SeaView camera's in price and functionality. I will be happy to post links to them if you like.
SecureView - Now this is a hard one for me, I have been reading the hype on the product for over a year. I have been disapointed in the long delays of the launch, Enough said on that point. When the product finally hits the market, I will wait to hear some feedback from users on the functionality & quality of the product. I do not have enough info on the product to post an opinion, being, It is not yet in retail outlets and readilly available for testing and or opinions from the masses.
Revenue for SecureView has me a little worried, I do not like the estimate of 180,000,000 in sales for the year. First, I dont think it is right the new CEO should have to live up to this unreachable number FOR YEAR 2001, and Second, The product is not out yet in mass quantity, It is not fair to the New Management or the Shareholders to have to rely on this number for a product that has not been in the marketplace in mass yet and we have no real gauge on its acceptance. I would like to see George restate some revenue forecats for Year 2001. He has to live up to them, I think this would be fair to all. Everytime I go the website I see that 180,000,000 number it unnerves me a little.
New Management - I am in 100% favour of it, I think it is a solid step forward. We all know the past problems with the Ex-ceo, I think it will take some time for this group to clear themselves of the funk left behind but it is a good move. My biggest opinion on the New Management "Only Time Will Tell"
