Law, I haven't had a chance to look at the companies that got the ax, but they usually dump the under preformers to pump up the index.

I remember a few years ago when the NDX did that, they pumped it up with one or two hot stocks like AAPL and then everything crashed.

I'd say same thing is going on here, It's the pump before the big dump.

JMO.
