As the third-largest bank operating in Florida with 414 branches here, SunTrust has long relied on the state to fuel its profits. Florida traditionally has accounted for about 35 percent of the bank's deposits. "Florida is incredibly significant," Kuntz said.
Kuntz said the bank is adding branches throughout the state and investing more in Florida than any other market in its footprint, but he declined to discuss specifics or set growth goals.
Most business operations are concentrated in Atlanta (Corporate HQ), Orlando, Richmond and South Florida.
