That is all just unfounded rumor unless you can back it up with facts and a link but I have a strong feeling that isn't going to happen.
If you can't supply proof that you own at least 1 bulb (little own 3 orders), then this is all just hot air.

Besides, CFL's have been on the market for almost 20 years, if there really was such a high failure rate we would all know about it by now.
I have not had a single bulb fail in the 5 years that I have had cfl's in my house and shop, not one failure.
When someone comes out of the blue and starts making unfounded claims that CFL's do this or CFL's don't do that, I have no choice but to pass it off as unfounded bs based on the fact that CFL's have proven themselves for ~20 years and are more reliable than the incandescent bulbs that I replaced 1000s of hours ago.
